Skin and BHD
BHD can cause skin bumps. The most common skin bumps are called fibrofolliculomas, but you can also get trichodiscomas and skin tags. These skin bumps are non-cancerous skin tumours. They are not dangerous but can cause some people to feel anxious or self-conscious.
Skin symptoms are often the first symptom of BHD first appearing in your twenties or thirties. If you think you have fibrofolliculomas, it is important to see a skin doctor (dermatologist) and get a genetic test. This means you can get a correct diagnosis before lung or kidney symptoms develop.
